Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail
Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail is the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and a world-renowned researcher in membrane technology. With an exceptional academic background, including a PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, he has dedicated his career to advancing nanostructured materials for applications ranging from water desalination to fuel cells. As the founder of the Advanced Membrane Technology Research Center (AMTEC), his scholarly impact is profound, evidenced by an h-index of 124 and over 78,000 citations. Prof. Ahmad Fauzi’s global leadership is recognized through prestigious accolades such as The Mustafa Prize 2023 (often referred to as the OIC Nobel Prize), the 2020 TWAS Award in Engineering Sciences, and his consistent ranking as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics. A Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and a Chartered Professional Engineer, he also serves as an executive board member for various international academic unions, bridging the gap between innovative research and institutional leadership.
