Cassidy Anak Morris
Datu Adj. Prof. Ir. Ts. Gs. Br. PMr. Dr. Cassidy Anak Morris is the Director of Public Works, Sarawak, leading the planning, delivery, and management of one of Malaysia's largest public infrastructure portfolios. Since joining the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR Sarawak) in 1998, he has held numerous strategic leadership positions, culminating in his appointment as Director in 2024.
With academic qualifications in Civil and Structural Engineering, Business Administration, and a Doctor of Business Administration, Dr. Cassidy combines technical expertise with strategic leadership in infrastructure development, asset management, project delivery, and public sector transformation. He is a Professional Engineer (Ir.), Professional Technologist (Ts.), ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer, Geospatialist (Gs.), Certified Builder (Br.), and Certified Project Manager (PMr.), while actively serving in several national professional engineering organisations.
Under his leadership, JKR Sarawak manages more than 15,000 infrastructure projects with a combined value exceeding RM72 billion, covering roads, bridges, schools, rural connectivity, and major strategic developments including the Pan Borneo Highway and Sarawak Sabah Link Road. He has also championed collaborations between government, academia, and industry to advance research, innovation, and sustainable infrastructure development.
Dr. Cassidy currently serves as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS), i CATS University College, and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He is an active keynote speaker, researcher, and advocate for engineering innovation, contributing to national and international knowledge sharing while promoting digital transformation, sustainable construction, and resilient infrastructure. His leadership has contributed to prestigious recognitions, including the Bentley Going Digital Awards and multiple Malaysia Book of Records achievements for Sarawak's landmark infrastructure projects.
YBhg Dato James Ung Sing Kwong
Yang Berbahagia Dato James Ung was appointed Group Chief Operating Officer in January 2022, overseeing the execution of critical and transformative operational strategic initiatives while maintaining engineering and operational excellence. He chairs the Group Operations Management Committee. A registered Professional Engineer (PE) with the Board of Engineers Malaysia, Dato James has dedicated over 30 years to Sarawak Energy’s growth. A mechanical engineer by profession, his extensive technical and leadership experience spans coal, gas and hydropower plants in the power generation business as well as new plant development. Prior to his current role, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of SEB Power Sdn Bhd, the generation arm of the Group. Dato James holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Alabama, USA, and is a Fellow of the International Hydropower Association (IHA). On 11 October 2025, he was conferred the Darjah Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak (P.S.B.S.), which carries the title ‘Dato’.

Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail
Prof. Datuk Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Fauzi Ismail is the Vice Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and a world-renowned researcher in membrane technology. With an exceptional academic background, including a PhD in Chemical and Process Engineering from the University of Strathclyde, he has dedicated his career to advancing nanostructured materials for applications ranging from water desalination to fuel cells. As the founder of the Advanced Membrane Technology Research Center (AMTEC), his scholarly impact is profound, evidenced by an h-index of 124 and over 78,000 citations. Prof. Ahmad Fauzi’s global leadership is recognized through prestigious accolades such as The Mustafa Prize 2023 (often referred to as the OIC Nobel Prize), the 2020 TWAS Award in Engineering Sciences, and his consistent ranking as a Highly Cited Researcher by Clarivate Analytics. A Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and a Chartered Professional Engineer, he also serves as an executive board member for various international academic unions, bridging the gap between innovative research and institutional leadership.
Distinguished Prof. Dr. Jerry Heng Yong Yew
Jerry Heng (JH) is currently a Professor in Particle Technology and Director of Undergraduate Studies at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Imperial College London. JH obtained his PhD in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College London (2006) and a B.Eng in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2002). JH research focuses on surfaces and interfaces of particulate materials. A current key research activity of his group is in the area of nucleation and crystal growth, with the aim of developing crystallisation as a separation strategy for the purification of biopharmaceuticals. The Heng Group is supported by UK and EU research councils and industry, publishing ~200 journal papers and 10 book chapters and successfully supervised 33 PhD students. JH is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and Editor-in-Chief for Chemical Engineering Research and Design and a Thematic Editor for Particuology.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Sonny is an Associate Professor of Drilling Engineering in the School of Mining and Geoscience, Department of Petroleum Engineering, at Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan. He teaches courses on Advanced Drilling Engineering and Well Completion and Workover for both conventional and unconventional resources. He holds BSc, MSc, and PhD degrees in Drilling Engineering. He have more than 20 years of experience in the petroleum industry and academia, with key qualifications and research interests in drilling and production equipment, drilling technology, integrated computer-aided analysis, well completion, design of downhole and surface equipment, software development, enhanced oil recovery (EOR), unconventional resources and geothermal wells, as well as the design of laboratory-specific equipment (e.g., high-pressure testing and large-scale testing equipment for multiphase flow and drilling process simulation).
Ir. Dr. Ashraf Azmi

Ir. Dr. Ashraf Azmi obtained his PhD from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2019 and is actively involved in research areas including process simulation modeling and control, material sciences, reactor and reaction kinetics, and polymerization. He has authored and co-authored over 60 books and journal papers, contributing significantly to his field. Dr. Ashraf is currently a Senior Lecturer at the School of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam. He also serves as the Chemical Engineering Publication Coordinator in the Department of Research and Innovation, College of Engineering. He has received multiple Best Papers and Best Presenters awards at national and international conferences, recognizing his excellence in research and presentation. He has also been invited as a speaker for numerous international conferences, sharing his expertise on advanced engineering topics. Beyond research, Dr. Ashraf has demonstrated innovation in both academia and industry, winning multiple awards in research, teaching, and learning. His contributions to scientific advancements and educational excellence have positioned him as a respected figure in his field, making a lasting impact through both scholarly work and practical applications.

Ir. Abdul Razak Yakob is a Petroleum Engineer with more than two decades of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, specialising in drilling engineering, well construction, well abandonment, real time operations, and well digitalisation. He currently serves as Head of Enhance Technical Resource Centre at FAAZMIAR Technology Sdn Bhd, where he leads initiatives in well information management, digital transformation, and the application of artificial intelligence for drilling operations. He is currently pursuing an Engineering Doctorate (EngD) at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, with research focusing on well digitalisation, data governance, operational resilience, and the practical implementation of digital technologies in upstream operations. His professional interests include digital twins, real time drilling analytics, operational optimisation, and the development of sustainable digital solutions for the energy sector. Ir. Razak is also actively involved in professional engineering development through the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) as the Vice President and the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) as a Board Member.
Prof. Yahaya Muhammad Sani

Prof. Yahaya Muhammad Sani is a Professor of Chemical Engineering at Ahmadu Bello University (A.B.U.) Zaria, Nigeria, with over 21 years of experience in academia, research, and university administration. He holds a B.Eng. in Chemical Engineering from A.B.U. Zaria, an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Newcastle University, UK, an M.Sc. in Chemical Engineering from A.B.U. Zaria, and a Ph.D. in Reaction Engineering from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. His research focuses on catalysis, renewable and sustainable energy, biofuels, and renewable energy systems, with more than 35 scientific publications in international journals and book chapters. A registered professional engineer with COREN and corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, he has received competitive research funding from Malaysia’s FRGS and Nigeria’s TETFund. Prof. Sani has also served as a keynote speaker at international conferences and delivered an International Collaborative Lecture at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia, in June 2026. His current research focuses on developing versatile renewable energy systems using multiple feedstocks, with catalysis playing a central role in the conversion of renewable energy carriers for clean and sustainable energy applications.

Dr. Farihahusnah Hussin received her Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, and subsequently obtained her Master of Engineering Science and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. Since June 2018, she has been serving as Associate Professor and researcher at the Research Centre for Carbon Dioxide Capture and Utilisation (CCDCU), Sunway University, Malaysia. Her research focuses on climate change mitigation technologies, carbon dioxide capture and utilization (CCU), biomass conversion, CO₂ adsorption, electrochemical CO₂ conversion, materials chemistry, life cycle assessment (LCA), and environmental sustainability. She is actively involved in developing novel, low-cost adsorbent and electrode materials for sustainable environmental and energy applications. Her work aims to advance green technologies that are both environmentally responsible and economically viable. Dr. Farihahusnah is a Professional Technologist registered with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT) and an Associate Member of the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE). She has published extensively in ISI-indexed journals and secured multiple research grants as principal investigator and co-investigator.

Nafisah Osman (Osman N) is a Professor at the Department of Physics, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She completed her Ph.D. at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2010 and her MSc as well as undergraduate studies at the same university in 2002 and 1990, respectively. Her research interests lie in advanced materials, solid-state ionic materials chemistry, and generally, the materials for proton ceramic fuel cells (PCFCs). In a recent study, she focused on better techniques for synthesizing ceramic compounds at relatively low temperatures and fabricating anode-supported single cells with various pure and composite materials of cathode and anode. She actively collaborates with researchers from other universities and research institutes in several different disciplines of science and technology, particularly in materials for ionic conductors and hydrogen production. Osman N is a founder and member of the Physics and Chemistry Materials Research Group (PCMaG) and the Proton Conducting Fuel Cell Research Group (PCFCRG- EK 4) in UiTM.

Ir. Ts. Dr. Rafeqah Raslan is a Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia, with more than 20 years of experience in chemical engineering education, research, and professional practice. She received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2021, with her doctoral research focusing on the integration of safety and health assessment into formulated product design. She also holds a Master of Science in Chemical and Process Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Her research expertise focuses on safety and health risk assessment, formulated product design, molecular design, chemical product development, and membrane technology. Her current research focuses particularly on integrating safety and health assessment into formulated product design frameworks, with emphasis on identifying and managing chemical risks at the early stages of product development. Her work also extends to personal care products, particularly the identification and assessment of ingredients associated with endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs).
Dr. Nor Saiful Hafiz Abdul Habib

Dr. Saiful obtained his PhD from Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2021. His research focuses on sustainable materials and technologies for enhanced oil recovery (EOR), petroleum production, and sustainable energy applications. His research expertise includes surfactant-based EOR, interfacial phenomena, wettability alteration, adsorption, flow assurance, CO₂ storage and utilisation. He also explores the valorisation of waste and biomass-derived materials for biofuel production, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production, sustainable adsorbents, and wastewater treatment. His research integrates petroleum engineering, surface chemistry, analytical characterisation, and sustainable materials to develop practical solutions for cleaner hydrocarbon production, carbon management, waste valorisation, and the transition towards sustainable energy.
